RBA anticipated ‘holding interest rates’

Labor's jobs plan not at odds with RBA, says treasurer

According to the Political Editor of Sky News, Andrew Clennell, everyone expects the Reserve Bank of Australia to hold on to its decision to increase interest rates.

On Tuesday, Michele Bullock is expected to hold her first meeting with the board as Governor of the RBA.

It is anticipated on Tuesday that the central bank will keep the cash rate at 4.1%.

“It would be pretty brave to hike them in your first meeting; no one is expecting anything other than a hold,” Mr. Clennell stated.

“However, there are a few indicators that would make the government nervous in the coming months.”
